My Story

I have always been conscious about what I eat. During the struggle to lose weight after kids, I failed to find affordable and tasty healthy snacks that were low in carbs and nutritious. I decided to begin baking these myself, but I didn’t know how to bake, so I took a few classes and used YouTube and lots of practice to learn all about how to create healthy recipes.
I begun baking cupcakes and decorated cookies with all natural and fresh ingredients like fruits, fresh butter and honey as a sweetener. With time, I got clients requesting for egg free, diary free and vegan snacks. I was able to create these recipes by doing research online and with lots of practice. I was later challenged to create gluten-free snacks and experimented with all types of gluten-free flour available, like, rice, millet, sorghum, cassava, maize. Sweet potato and pumpkin were my choice because they tasted better than the rest and are nutritious. I read that the orange fleshed sweet potato is more nutritious and has got a lower glycemic index than the white sweet potato, so decided to use that instead. This, combined with pumpkin flour, would make the flour perfect for those following a healthy diet.
I also took a few short business courses with Sinapis Uganda, Tony Elemelu and AWEC, to learn how to run the business.
During the lockdown, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, delivery of the snacks became a challenge so I decided to package the flour for sale and show how to bake with it. This also when the YouTube channel was created. I upload videos on the channel and recipes on this website as well, to give guidance and encourage people to bake at home. This way, you know exactly what you are eating.
The Jollity gluten-free sweet potato and pumpkin flour are available in a few stores within Kampala and all that information is available on the Information and Pricing section on the website.
